Chapter 3 The Offices of the Church Every home needs a husband; every team, a coach; every nation, a president. Every church needs a leader, and leaders cannot have two heads, let alone five or ten. Church government by committee has no place in the biblical record. The purpose of committees is to offer counsel to the pastor. God calls one person to lead the local congregation, and that person is the pastor. But always remember, leadership is never demanded. It is deserved. God has placed deep in
